Races

I have just signed up for two races.

Grace and I have signed up for a race. This is a fundraising event for Pathways Pregnancy Clinic. Pathways provides information and services free of charge to women who would like help and answers after they have become pregnant and all free of charge. Please support Pathways by (1) donating to my page here or Grace's page here or anyone's page, (2) signing up and joining yourself here, (3) donating in general here, (4) and/or spreading the word so that others can take part in this fundraiser.

I have also signed up for another 5K race with Madeline. I'm excited to do this race with her that was a highlight race for me when I was younger. :)

I hope you all enjoy this incredible day!

Seattle ~ Part Two

Monday morning came on the scene sooner than we wanted, but were happy to receive a Facetime Chat with Dad. I'm trying to remember what we did this day... Just got it - Zach and I left Tuesday, so all the other activities are for Monday.

We went to the normal hospital visit and then home to finish the delicious left-over pizza from the night before.

Mom and Dad had told me about a place called "Rachel's Ginger Beer". I wanted to go and check it out and
possibly purchase some. We had seen it the day before, so we made our way back and found it happily situated by Pike's Place. Mom and I both ended up purchasing some: hibiscus and original - they were delicious!

Zachary volunteered to carry the two bottles and then we headed off to the Seattle Space Needle and Chihuly Glass.

Personally, I thought we should do our next New Year's Day Ball in this area...
then again, the main reason is because of all the glass, we wouldn't be able to see outside anyway - maybe we should stay local. :)
Madeline and I on the Monorail
As we left Chihuly Glass, the rain and wind eventuated. Madeline started getting cold - especially since she brought a windbreaker and not a rain coat. When we were about 2 blocks away, Madeline and I ran the rest of the way to the hotel a bit chilly and ready for a warm dinner and something cozy to drink.

Zach and I on the train
Tuesday afternoon, Zachary and I jumped in a taxi and headed off to the train station to go back home. We had a good time - I loved that the train didn't follow the freeway and that we were by the river a lot. I discovered that walking in a train is difficult - more so than walking in an airplane. :)

Seattle ~ Part One

Well, to start out with, this is Madeline. She has been in Seattle (with Mom, Megan, and Zachary) taking part in a study for diabetes. She has been a trooper. (On Sunday, she will have completed her two weeks there and will come home. :)

The morning would start at 7am when we'd all get up and ready and then go down stairs to the amazing breakfast. I loved it! :) We would then walk three blocks to the hospital. This is a bigger deal than it would appear because of this hill. You might not be able to see it, but I drew a stick figure at the top of the hill - one block.

Dad and I went up Friday night and Dad stayed till Sunday night. While he was there, we went
to the zoo,
to a play that some friends were in,
and lastly, to the Pacific Science Center and rode the Monorail.

We had a great weekend, but then Dad had to go back home. Zachary and I (I think) were both slightly debating on whether or not to go back with Dad or stay longer. Vacation is fun, but home is beautiful. (We stayed longer and waved good-bye.)

A Surprise ~ Part One

For Christmas, my friend Susanna gave me a ticket to go see the new Cinderella when it came out in theaters. We both planned that Sarah and Lauren (good-old-chauffeuring-type-sisters :)  would bring us and this was accomplished on Friday.
The following morning, Susanna and I decorated some Buckwheat Coffee Baby Cakes with some fondant.

I had to get Susanna out of the house so that all of the ladies could arrive, Lauren and Mom could put the fruit bouquet together, the house could be decorated, etc. I thought I was doing so well. I texted Mom as soon as we got out of the manicure and told her we were going to Goodwill and then, thinking that she might be busy, I texted Emily. Apparently, non of my text messages left my phone and I didn't receive any test from my Dad saying that he was outside the manicure location. Well, it all ended up well and turned out better than we expected it to...
