Ah, it was beautiful and peaceful. After we had all woken up at a leisurely hour, we read a chapter in Exodus, and left with whole wheat rolls and Pam Tarts to head to The Ape Caves - we left our house at about 8:30am (almost an hour after we had "originally" spoken of).
We went here:
Whoops! We weren't here. It just looked like we were. :)

We went here to The Ape Caves:
We tried to get pictures inside, but the lighting was being difficult.

Windy Ridge: After we had tramped around the Ape Caves for a couple of hours, we headed out to Windy Ridge. It was a beautiful drive.
The panorama view from one of the stops. |
At Windy Ridge |
The drive back was quiet and peaceful - I'm sure that has nothing to do with how many people were sleeping...

The driver was NOT sleeping... |
Yes, you do see a clothespin on Emily's hair. |
Wow, looks like fun! I love the panorama view, it's lovely! :)
ReplyDeleteHmm, looks like somebody might have been just a wee bit bored. As in, deciding to clothespin certain someones... ;)
Glad ya'll had fun! :)
Oooh! I love the ape caves...though we've never gotten to do it together with the whole family :)
ReplyDeleteHey Rachel,
ReplyDeleteGuess what? We got to go to the Ape Caves today! :D It was so nice and cool down there! A great relief from the hot sunny weather! :)
We only got to go through the "easy" tunnel, but it was lots of fun!
(we're planning on going back and do the "harder" tunnel soon!) :)
And when we go back, we're hoping to go to Windy Ridge! :D
Did you get to do both tunnels? Also, did you see the "meatball"? We did, it was cool! :)

The ape caves sounds beautiful today! We went on the "easy" tunnel (yes, we did get to see the meatball:). We attempted the "harder" one, but we took a wrong turn and came to a dead end.
DeleteWindy Ridge is great and a beautiful drive.
The meatball was kinda cool wasn't it?
DeleteI think Josh said that ya'll are planning on going back to do the "harder" one. Are you? If you are, maybe we can all go together!
