Sunriver in the Spring

We haven't gone to Sunriver in the Spring for years - I was definitely younger than 10 and likely younger
than 8 - I barely remember it.

Being Spring and that there was still snow on the ground, it was slightly different (no biking everyday with everyone around Sunriver, no outdoor swimming pool - though we did go in the indoor pool, etc.). We read, played games, went to the observatory, I went running, some kids went riding bikes, we ate, put on facemasks....

We biked to the store the first day - our hands
were numb, but it was fun and that's one of the
ways memories are made, right?

Probably my most favorite thing was going to hear Michael Card at the end of the of the trip. (Some of us came home by way of Salem to hear him.) Dr. Card does a fantastic job turning your eyes on God and not on himself. It was like having my favorite musician play for a hymn sing - but a little more cool. :)

 Hope you all had just as fantastic of a weekend as I did.

O Love that Will Not Let Me Go

This is one of my favorite hymns. On Monday morning, Grace picks out a hymn and reads how it came about from 101 Hymn Stories by Keneth W. Osbeck.

Some of us at church have attempted to sing this arrangement, but haven't quite been able to find the time to practice. :)

(They left the second verse out:)

O light the foll'west all my way,

I yield my flick'ring torch to Thee;

My heart restores its borrowed ray,

That in Thy sunshine's blaze its day

May brighter, fairer be.

What Tickles Today

Rain, rain, come and stay, the sun will come another day. 

(I do love the sun though. :)

5. Time with siblings
6. My parents - so much could be said - they have so much wisdom and I am INCONCEIVABLY blessed by it and their love
7. Weather ~

• tints of pink in a morning sky
• blustery days
• sprinkles of rain
• sunshine

(it really does feel like Spring)
